Easter Goodies <3

I had extra batter left over from previous cake, I made 8 cupcakes (Carter ate one already) and a batch of shortbread cookies for Easter. I was basically baking all Satuday, the day before Easter. I had Chocolate cupcakes with "egg yellow" colored vanilla buttercream frosting and accented with a hot pink sugar flower I had extra also. I also had made these delicious shortbread cookies with fondant, royal icing and edible luster shimmer dust. They were so much fun to make.. they were a big hit too at my moms. I put each individual cookie in its own little bag, accented with a colored ribbon. Next time I'm making two batches!! <3

Easter Basket Fondant Cake

This was a fun cake to make.. and yes.. its a cake. I made this for a client from my work. Its a 9" three layer chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream with vanilla custard filling in the layers. There is candy in the middle of the basket, jelly beans and chocolate malt eggs. There is a bunny in the back with carrots around him and a few around the cake.. There is a little chick an a chick that hatched out of an egg in the basket also. A few lady bugs and flowers around the cake also. I did have the comical chicky's in front of the cake.. they were soo cute to make.. I love the little hairs too on top of their heads. I originally had a yellow fondant bow to put on top instead of the blue bow, but it didnt dry in time.. so I opted for a ribbon bow.. which looked great anyways. This was definetly a fun cake to make.. love it.. I would hate to be the on to cut the cake!! :)

Cherry Blossom Fondant Cake

This was a last minute cake I decided to do the day before my Friend Alli's surprise birthday party in March. The bottom teir is a 8" chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream icing and the top is a 6" funfetti with vanilla uttercream also. The flowers and tree branch is all edible handmade sugar, withroyal icing along the boarder.The whole cake is also covered in white fondant! She loved it. Kinda looks like a little wedding cake.. lol but it was for her 23rd birthday. :)
